To use SofTap Permanent Cosmetics Colors you need to understand that any color interacts with the pigment in the client's skin known as melanin.

There are different types of melanin called Pheomelanin and Eumelanin. Pheomelanin is  found in hair and skin and is both in lighter-skinned humans and darker-skinned humans ; pheomelanin imparts a pink to red hue and, thus, is found in particularly large quantities in red hair. Eumelanin is found in hair, areola, and skin, and the hair colors grey, black, yellow, and brown ;in humans, it is more abundant in people with dark skin.

The Fitzpatrick scale is a useful guide for choosing color. Dermatologists use these skin types as a guide for how clients' skin responds to UV light. This scale is important for the permanent makeup technician because certain skin types  with mone eumelanin can hyper-pigment color and turn it darker.

SKIN TYPES

The skin, hair, and eye chart below are a great guide for helping you select your color.

Fitzpatrick Skin Types

Type     Hair Color                    Skin Color                   Eye Color

            1.         Red                               Light                             Blue/Green

            5.         Black                            Dark                              Dark

            6.         Black                            Black                            Black

People with skin types 1,2, and 3 have more pheomelanin( red) in their skin and people with skin types 4,5, and 6 have more eumelanin ( blue) in their skin.

To predict the final result when you use any SofTap color, you need  to know what is the clasiffication of the softap color ( cool, neutral or warm ) and  your client's  skin type. For example, if you want to get a warm effect in a person skin type 1,2, or 3,  you need to use a warm color, but if you want to get a blonde color, you need to use a neutral color.

COLORS FOR EYEBROWS

Brow colors are divided in to cool, neutral and warm pigments.

They are further divided into light, medium and dark. If a color with more red is desired, then choose a color from the warm palette. If a color with less red is desired, then choose a color from the neutral palet . The cool colors are designed to make the warm and neutral colors cooler, so you can mix the colors to get the perfect match.

For brows where a complete section is missing such a tail, choose a color that matches exactly  with the existing  hair in the brow area.

For brows where the hair growth is sparse, match the color to the existing hairs and fill in only the sparse areas.

For brows where there is almost a complete absence of hair, then choose a color that compliments the skin tone.
